Solo hanbok photo re-finished — temple white ramie hanbok to hanok golden hanbok

Old color photos lose color one channel at a time. A photo covered in a bluish tone makes it hard to tell whether the hanbok was originally white or a pale color.

This work began with an old hanbok photo of a grandmother seated on a stone wall in front of a temple. In the cyan-shifted photo she had originally worn a white ramie hanbok, and the background included part of a dancheong building and a sign. What the family wanted was "a warm finish suitable to enshrine as a hanbok memorial portrait."

Davinci worked in two stages. Stage 1 — cyan-shift correction brought back the figure's likeness, pose, and expression clearly. Stage 2 — at the family's request, the white ramie hanbok was changed to a golden-yellow hanbok (embroidered skirt with a purple collar), and the temple background was newly set as a hanok courtyard (white wall, roof tiles, stone steps). The hands, pose, shoe position, and expression were not touched by a single pixel.

There is a clear difference between looking plausible and being truly her. Since 1994, for 32 years, the original face has been protected by hand.

Standard turnaround is 1–2 days. Output is usually finished at 4R–6R, but any size the family wants is possible.
